The Boat
Sea Biscuit is a 2014 Lagoon 39 Catamaran. There are four cabins and two heads, or bathrooms, in her two hulls. A spacious cockpit gives a nice area to lounge or have drinks and dinner outside. The top of the mast is about 62 feet tall which will allow us to travel through the Intracoastal waterway (ICW) or she is capable of circumnavigating the globe! I wonder where she will take us…
After getting into several rain storms and getting drenched while at the helm, it was abundantly clear that we need an enclosure. Adam is a one-man show at the Lady’s Island marina, in Beaufort SC. His work is impeccable and was worth waiting for. Sea Biscuit got dressed up in turquoise canvas with sliding panels that can roll up as well.
Before and after at the bow: We’ve replaced the old anchor with all new Mantus gear! A Mantus M2 anchor, swivel, shackle, bridle, we also replaced the chain with 250 feet of G4 chain and a new roller.
A year later, a new Quick vertical windlass. That concludes a complete update of the anchor system!
